The tour starts in the client’s hotel to an adventure to get to know the capital, its architecture and its traditions, which have been contributing to the shape of many neighborhoods day by day.
The tour starts in the Miraflores neighborhood, with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean from El Parque del Amor ( The Park of Love), and then continue to the modern neighborhood of San Isidro with its traditional park El Olivar and its large traditional Tudor-style houses, where we can see the influence of the British Colony in this zone of the city. The tour continues to downtown Lima, where we can appreciate the colonial architecture, the balconies of Arabian influence which decorate city of Lima and the beautiful large colonial houses, that form part of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The tour to the Historic Downtown Lima includes visits to the Cathedral, where the mausoleum of Francisco Pizarro is located, founder of Lima city on January 18th, 1535. Then we continue the tour to the San Francisco Church, an antique Franciscan monastery that has a fine collection of colonial paintings of the Cusco School and anonymous authors. The catacombs are part of this religious complex. They are connected to the central nave of the church and at that time they were used to bury wealthy people so that their sins may be forgiven and so that they may reach a place in heaven. Our colonial beauty and opulence from that time could be seen when visiting Casa Aliaga (Aliaga House), where the seventeenth generation of the family still lives.
